I went on a girl’s trip with the women in my husband’s family to Ireland, and it was SO FUNNN. Ireland is incredible, it completely blew me away. Before I go to a new country I always make a note of picturing exactly how I expect it to be so that I can compare my idea of it with the way it really is. Before going to Ireland, I pictured rolling green hills, stone fences and lots of sheep. That part of Ireland is sooo beautiful and just how I pictured. But there is so much more that I wasn’t expecting that is just as amazing! The towns are so charming and there are parts of the countryside that almost look like Iceland. It is SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. PLEASE GO EVERYONE.
We stayed in a little town called Adare in the South-Western part. My father-in-law found an awesome deal on Travelzoo that included flights from NYC, our accommodations in the Adare Manor Villas, and a rental car all for $899!! Every day we drove to a different part of the country. I recommend renting a car if you visit Ireland, because it is so convenient and driving through the country is amazing and just seeing the countryside as we drove was one of the highlights of our trip!
I was so sad that Taylor wasn’t on this trip, because I know how much he would have enjoyed the spectacular scenery, and everything else for that matter. The food was delicious, the people were so kind, and the culture and history were amazing. We will come back together someday!
Some of my favorite things:
We drove up through Connemara the very first day. I was NOT expecting the amazingly beautiful rolling brown hills and spectacular views. A trip up to this part of Ireland is definitely a must!
Dublin. Oh Dublin. Walking down Grafton Street was so fun. There is something about old European cities that just steals my heart, and Dublin definitely did that. I had the best fish and chips of my life there too!
Fish and chips. Literally almost every day. SO GOOD.
The Cliffs of Moher – they are 10000 times more awe inspiring in person than I could have imagined. This was probably one of the top 5 most incredible sights I have ever seen in my life. If you go to Ireland, the cliffs of Moher are the one thing you absolutely cannot miss!
Driving the Dingle Peninsula was another breathtaking experience. The Irish coastline has so many incredible views, and the day we drove the peninsula was so beautiful. The way the light filtered through the ocean mist and hit the green patchwork farmland that went right up to the edge of the sea was nothing short of magical!
Ireland exceeded my expectations in every way, which is saying something because I had very high expectations! From my experience, every aspect of the country is breathtakingly beautiful.
Also PS green camera bag is from Jo Totes and it was sooo nice to have!! I’ve linked it here.
