Morocco is vibrant and colorful and so lively. We stayed in the city of Marrakech, which has the coolest vibe. They have fresh orange juice everywhere for USD $0.40 a glass, we probably had 4-5 a day each because it was sooo good. It was really fun to wander through the souks (markets)! It was way hot, so we bought some light cotton moroccan style clothing that was so nice to wear in the heat.
One of the coolest things I have ever done in my life was riding camels out into the Sahara desert and spending the night in a berber tent. I can’t even begin to describe how amazing this experience was. We rode camels until we got to our camp, and had a traditional tajine (moroccon dish) by candlelight sitting cross legged on a moroccon rug. They played drums and music by the fire and we all danced. Taylor and I laid back on a sand dune and looked up at the stars. I have never ever seen stars like that in my life! We felt so small. It was amazing to be able to participate like this in a culture that was so different from our own, and spend time with people who’s backgrounds were completely unlike ours. It’s something I would love to do again someday, even though there was a beetle that was (no joke) at least 2 1/2 inches long on my pillow. I only knew it was there because I was laying down with my eyes closed and I literally HEARD ITS FOOTSTEPS. No bug should ever be big enough to make sound when it steps in my opinion. I freaked and Tay came running and got it out and all in all I feel like it kind of contributed to the experience? Idk lol. Either way I HIGHLY recommend this experience to anyone that wants to visit Morocco.
Have you been to Morocco? If so, what was your experience like? Are you planning on going someday? Let me know in the comments! <3
We are going to Morocco in one month! Did you guys maneuver around by yourselves or did you get a guide? We have a whole week any must do or things you would have passed on??
Ahhh I’m so excited for you!! You will love it! Are you going to multiple cities?? We just did Marrakech so we didn’t have to do tons of travel within the country. The riad that we stayed at was affiliated with a company that offered the camel tour out to the Sahara. It was so cool!! I am SO glad we did it, I would say thats the one thing you absolutely have to do!
