Our next stop after Paris was Berne, Switzerland. Our first taste of Switzerland was our conversation with the guy that sat across from us on the train from Paris to Berne. He lived just outside of Berne, and was just the nicest guy. He told us all about the country and culture and even bought us chocolate! Seriously I can’t get over how nice he was. We were like, “okay if this is what people here are like we are going to love it!” And really, everyone was that nice. I have never met more friendly people.
Switzerland is just magnificent. There are no words to describe how epic the Swiss alps are. We spent a day in a village high in the Alps called Grindelwald, and it was seriously (SERIOUSLY) one of the greatest days of my life. Taylor and I are definitely mountain people, and the way the alps rose so dramatically behind the rolling green hills was jaw dropping. We hiked up onto one of the beautiful hills and ate lunch (olives, swiss cheese, and salami) and just watched the little avalanches and looked out over the valley. It was one of those moments that you look back on and cherish forever. Switzerland stole our hearts like no place has, and it is a place we plan on returning to many times.
Overlooking the beautiful city of Berne. What a view!!
Exploring Grindelwald
Lauterbrunnen is the prettiest mountain valley town known for it’s waterfalls.
We took a cable car up to Gurten in Berne and found the most beautiful view!
